It’s probably been a good month since I showed you some shelves I’ve been collecting. Pinterest has only fueled an obsession that’s been going for a long time, but oh man are there some beauties on there. Here’s what I’ve been drooling over lately.

Oh man do I love this. I can totally see this in our house (although are ceilings aren’t half that high).

Now this is will obviously never be in any home that I own, but oh my word. The pink. The books. The iron staircases/railings. Anyone know where this is? I NEED to be there.

This is totally do-able though. The thing that I really love is that it makes sure you have little side tables on either side of the couch too. I actually think that this is brilliant, especially for a house with a really open floor plan. Very cool.

And this one spins. Awesome, right? Well for only SIX HUNDRED dollars it can be yours from PB kids. *snort* If you pay that much for this, I will have no problem calling you an idiot to your face. Seriously though, it is cool, huh?

I know that you guys have gathered that I have a thing for pretty shelves. It’s been awhile since I showed you some that make me salivate. Today’s the day!

It’s kind of amazing. Just pictures of.. you guessed it… beautiful shelves. Not sure how mine haven’t made it there yet, but it’s only a matter of time, right?

Bookish News: My Beautiful Shelves!

I don’t even know how to intro this except to say that I have found myself, over the last few days, just sitting and staring at my shelves. I think I’m obsessed.

I thought that 3 five-shelve bookshelves, would be enough, but as you can tell, I had to start an “overflow” shelf on the top. Eek. The bad thing is, having such pretty shelves makes me want MORE books. Target, you may have a returning customer soon!

This really is all due to Shaun. All I did was provide the vision. He carried it all up the steps, put the shelves together, figured out the “perfect” order for color organizing, and even took this picture. He’s a pretty great guy.

And yes, we have an orange corduroy couch.

Bookish Thoughts: Droolworthy Home Libraries

I am totally exhausted today. We had a long, wonderful weekend with our friends and families in the town that we grew up in, but I came back just totally destroyed. Our drive back was extended by about an hour because we got stuck in a great little traffic jam. Behind a semi. Filled with stinky pigs. Seriously. Anyway, I just thought I deserved a sleep-in day and I took it to the absolute extreme. I’m still pretty tired and don’t really feel like putting together a thoughtful blog entry, so I’m just going to share a few pictures out of a little folder on my computer called “home libraries.” They are delicious. Enjoy.

The next few have ladders. Swoon!

Bookish Thoughts: Moving

So we’re in the process of moving into a bigger apartment. I’m not allowed to lift anything more than 20 pounds. I have mounds and mounds of books. Our new apartment is an upstairs apartment. All this to say, Shaun is a saint.

Here is the back of our little truck just a couple of days ago:

You can see that it looks like I’m selling books out of the back of the truck. And up there in the upper right? Yup, 3 new bookshelves. They say “team lift” on them, so while Shaun hauls them around I like to yell, “go team!!” He loves it, I’m sure.

I probably have 4 or 5 more boxes of books just waiting here for him to get to, but for some reason, he’s been putting it off. Hmmmm….

Bookish Thoughts: Organizing by Color

People tease me about it all the time when they see my books, but I’ve been organizing my books by color for a long time. They just look so dang pretty. I have several shelves all over the house and would love to consolidate them all onto one huge shelf.

Today, I stumbled across this and seriously stopped breathing for a minute.

I realize that they’ve hidden all their white/tan/black books somewhere, but I’m fine with that. This is stunning.

And we just happen to be making an Ikea trip this weekend.

Hmmm….
