As I told you last year, I’m the nerdiest of nerds.  Not only do I read compulsively, I also keep track of what I’ve read in an spreadsheet. Awesome, right?

I didn’t really set a reading goal for 2010 because I didn’t really know how being pregnant and having a baby would effect my reading, so I really had no idea even where to shoot.  I figured I’d probably read about 100 books.  I hit that right around my due date and just kept on going!

Here’s where I ended up:

Books Read: 150

Pages Read: 51,401

Average Pages Per Book: 343

Best Reading Month: April (5,311 pages)

Worst Reading Month: November (2,912 pages)

Longest Book Read: World Without End, by Ken Follett (1014 pages)

Shortest Book Read: The Diaries of Adam and Eve, by Mark Twain (112 pages)

I know that I average about 1 page per minute.  Based on that:

Hours Spent Reading: 856.68

Days Spent Reading: 35.69

Can’t figure out if that is sad or amazing . It’s about 20 less DAYS than last year though, so I guess that’s what this little guy has cost me… 20 reading days.  I guess he’s kind of worth it

I have been a serious reader my whole life, but only in the last couple of years have I started keeping track of number of books read, number of pages read, and doing crazy stuff like setting goals for the next year.

My goal for 2009, initially, was to read 100 books.  After reading 25 in January, I realized that I was going to have to up my number.  I settled on 200 books, and just last week I made it! I ended up at 201, which even kind of makes me an overachiever, right?
