Yup, that’s right. I held out for a long time, and then this year I got a NOOK Simple Touch for Christmas. I was alway a little reluctant to get an e-reader, but not for any real moral reasons- while I love paper books, I was mostly concerned about the cost of the books themselves. [...]

Just wanted to remind you guys that Steve Jobs’ biography comes out today!
Shaun, my non-reader of a husband, pre-ordered this they very moment that they announced that they were pushing up the release day, so I’m patiently awaiting the mail lady.
Even if you are not constantly surrounded by Apple products like we are here at [...]

Not trying to alarm anyone, but the Decatur Book Festival is in less than two weeks. SQUEEEEEEEEEEEE.
In what is maybe the nerdiest, but most wonderful decision I’ve made in awhile, I will be meeting a bunch of my online book-nerd friends there. Jennie, Julie, Crystal, just to name a few will be there and it [...]

I know that you guys have heard me go on and on about the wonder is Julie over at Book Hooked. She is kind of the coolest girl ever. When all those tornadoes hit the south this past spring, her town of Ringgold was one of the hardest hit. They lost lives and lots and [...]
So, this is totally amazing.
This company called Blank Pages put together an online copy of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. They put words on one page and left the opposite page blank. As users submit artwork that goes with the words on the opposing page, the editors put them in and…. waaalaaaa… community art project.
Even [...]
I just had the craziest weekend ever, which afforded no time at all for the ol’ blog. I guess that is what happens when the sun *finally* comes out after 8 long months of hiding.
It did, however afford time for lots of car & outdoor reading, which was wonderful.
Anyway! I haven’t gone two days without [...]
Just wanted you guys to get over to All 4 Alabama and bid on some of the amaaaaazing auctions.
We’re looking at book art, critiques, signed books, even a scene written especially for you. Awesome, right?!
There are more items being added everyday and, according to Crystal, the best is yet to come. Keep checking back and [...]
Two Kisses for Maddy came in the mail last night.
I’ve just started it and it is absolutely gut-wrenching.
I’ve been following Matt’s blog from the get-go so I kind of felt like, “Well I know the story so it won’t be as sad…”
Oh. My. Word.
I have never been so wrong.
I’ll let you know how it turns [...]
I don’t ask much of you guys, I really don’t… but I need all my internet buddies with me on this one.
I kind of forced Shaun and Isaac to dress alike so I could enter them in a contest. They both just *happen* to have red flannel shirts and my husband just *happens* to look [...]
I’m not sure if you guys have heard anything about some librarian’s decision to boycott HarperCollins.
They have decided to boycott until HarperCollins lifts their new restrictions on loaning out ebooks. As of now, libraries can only lend out ebooks 26 times before re-newing their ebook license.
Here is a news article about it: Librarians Boycott HarperCollins.
Here [...]
