1. And I broke down and bought Lola and the Boy Next Door. When I was pre-ordering for Kayla (the winner of my giveaway!) I felt totally ok with waiting. Then yesterday all the fun hype on twitter and from Tameka and Jessica was too much for me. I caved. We went to the bookstore last night and I read the first 30 pages before we walked out the door. I’m going to finish the book I’m currently reading then on to Lola! So excited.
2. This has been a tough week for a lot of reasons that I’m not going to share here. I will, however, share this: One of the reasons took me to the doctor’s office. Where I had to get weighed. Holy crap. It was bad news. So…. I’m going to stop eating like a cow. I used to be this really healthy person, but breastfeeding totally spoiled me. I could eat a lot and lose weight because I was giving away all of my calories. Now, however, I’m only dishing out a couple ounces a day and… well… you can totally tell. I signed up for a fitness-y app to help me track my crap and so far I’m doing well. I’m starving though! All I can think about is food. Also I’m reading The Omnivore’s Dilemma. That was maybe bad planning, huh?
3. You guys are going to be so proud when you see my TBR shelf on the 1st. I’ve been very, very good this month. I think you’ll be impressed.
4. I really love fall. I know that we talked about this before, but I want to reiterate that I love it. Part of the love comes from my love of jeans and flip-flops. I love weather that lets you wear cozy clothes AND let your toes show. It’s perfect. Isaac and I spend tons of time outside everyday just soaking it up. I am actually really scared about winter. I don’t even want to think about it.
5. Izey is walking! He’s been taking one or two tentative steps for a couple of weeks, but he is tentative no more! Dude is getting where he needs to go and it is hilarious. He brings his feet up really high and keeps his back straight like he is marching and it cracks this may-have-been-a-band-nerd up. He is also saying more words (dog, moo, vroom, yeah) and nodding his head “yes.” He takes a 2-3 hour nap in the middle of the day and sleeps around 12 hours at night. 13 months is my very favorite age so far.
