Lovely Little Shelf

Izey’s Newest Bookish Find

I know that I have told you about the love Isaac has for some books.  Dude lunges for them over a toy any day.  He has honestly been great about not tearing up books from day one.  We leave his paper books on a shelf at the bottom so he can pull them off and flip through them at will.  It is a favorite hobby.

He does have  a couple cardboard books that have been devoured.  We’re talking almost whole pages missing. Seriously.

Anyway, this past weekend, I came across these books at a toy store called Indestructibles.

They are plain old adorable.  The pictures are perfect and there are a TON of titles:

And, even better? They are chew proof, rip proof, non toxic and 100% washable.  Of course, upon reading that they were rip-proof, I tried my darnedest.  Nothing. They are seriously sturdy.

AND they are light as a feather.  No more carrying around cardboard books in my bag so Isaac can have an easy diversion.

I love the idea of kids books without words, so you can kind of talk it through with them and make up your own stories.  While a lot of these are based on popular nursery rhymes, they don’t have words so you can let your creativity flow.

I picked up the Hey Diddle Diddle one just to see if Isaac even cared about them before getting 203 of them to have in every room of the house, part of the car, and bag that I carry.

He’s in love.  He loves flipping through them, licking them, crinkling them up, and sitting on my lap and listening to me ramble on and on.

If you have kids or are headed to a baby shower soon, get one of these. Or two. Or 203.

These are great! The last time we were in the US we picked some up for my son, even though they are a bit young for him. I just loved them so much I couldn’t resist! x
