Yay! Another month of downsizing! After last month’s book buying frenzy, my shelf is looking pretty nice, if I do say so myself!
It is still 2 layers deep, but it really isn’t too bad. None of the stacking on top and cramming books in that we had last month. Even small improvement is improvement, right? Right.
Here’s what we’re looking at:
If you are observant, you may notice that there are a couple new books. I got two at a garage sale and one from Amazon and I did buy and read a couple, including my presidential biography… but really. Not too bad.
Here’s the shelf when I remove that front row:
This has been pretty much the same for months. Meh. Oh well. I’ll deal with that later.
So there ya go. What do you think?
How is your TBR shelf looking? Do you have some books that have been on there forever? When do you decide to remove them?

You know, the books I need to read are sort of scattered around on different shelves, because I was separating by genre. I think since my shelves are getting fuller (surprise, right?), I might need to just dedicate a shelf to my TBR pile.
Your shelf looks so much better than my TBR shelf. Big sigh.
I have a bunch of To Be Read books on my Nook. Some have been there for weeks, and others have been added very recently. What I’ve realized is that the newer books grab my attention more while the older books get ignored. Sometimes I’ll force myself to read one of these ‘old’ books and I find that I absolutely loved the book and then I give myself a mental kick because what other treasures await in my To Be Read pile? I must find out! But then the cycle starts all over again, I start to ignore the old books in favor of the new ones, and I never learn my lesson.
I love how similar our tastes are. I’ve got at least half of those books on my own TBR and several of the others I’ve already read. Good choices!
