I just came across this website, The Art of Doing Stuff, and I pretty much love it.
There’s about a million different little things described and photographed in detail with instructions. On the front page right now are some tasty looking sweet potato fries and dipping sauce. Yum.
Anyway, this post just had to be shared: How to Stack 7 Books 7 Different Ways
The thing is, I don’t think that I had ever considered that there are all these different ways. Currently I am a “Classic Stack I” kind of girl, but in the past I have done “Half Up Half Down” stacking a lot in the past. Other than those two? I have to say that I’ve been fairly uncreative, stacking wise.

See? Had you thought of stacking your books this way? I thought not. So pretty and different! I love it!
If you have a few minutes click through this site. So fun and way, way beautiful. Enjoy!

Love these ideas but I think have too many books so I stack regularly.
I am totally going to look. I have did the top one but only next to my bed, not on the shelf, it takes up so much room doing creative stuff directly on the shelf.
Her post was hilarious, thanks for sharing, lol. I guess i’m not crazy enough, hahahaa
Thanks for sharing! Right now there is no logic to how I stack my books other than how I can fit the most books in. Will definitely have to undertake this as a project.
I love this idea—for different stacking. thanks for sharing.
I guess I am too anal for these creative stacks – I like mine either vertical or horizontally stacked – I like the cleanliness of the lines.
This will be a project for me some day. My bookshelf is a mess!
As much as I would love to be a creative stacker, I just have far too many books and I have to go for the maximum books per stack method.
Oooh, thanks for sharing this. I’ve just stacked my books wherever there’s space. =) Running out of shelf space. Definitely will check it the creative site for some ideas.
