Lovely Little Shelf

April: To Be Read Shelf

One of the goals that I set at the beginning of the year was to get my TBR pile down to a manageable size before buying new books.  I’ve decided to show you my TBR pile at the beginning of each month so you can watch the condition of it get (hopefully) better!

Here it is as of April 1st:

I’m pretty proud of this, to be honest.  If you remember last month, I was kind of over-flowing.  This month, I not only read several books from this shelf (as well as new ones I bought… whoops!) but I also did some spring cleaning!  I got rid of 5 or 6 books that I no longer have any interest in reading and it really cleaned the shelf up a lot.  There’s not a chunk in front now and I’m so excited.  This actually looks do-able.

How big is your TBR pile/shelf?  Is it getting smaller or larger over time?  Are you going to do any spring cleaning?

My TBR shelf seems to stay the same over time. Whenever I read a few books, I buy a few more books. I really need to focus on finishing the books I buy!

On the other hand, I keep acquiring books on my Nook faster than I can read them, and since they don’t take up any physical space, it’s hard to cut back! haha

Mine is overflowing and with the library holds I anticipate in the next few months coming in, I might not ever recover!

I am typically a library only person, so I rarely need to even think about my shelf. However! I’ve recently had a streak of good luck with blog contests and my shelves are getting a little over full! I’m not about to call it a problem, but I do need to take a few books to be donated :) Congratulations on the progress with your own lovely little shel(ves)!

My TBR pile is pretty moderate right now. For years I would buy and buy books and then never read them. I have gotten into the habit of taking pictures of books while I am out and about to see where I can get the best deal on them. Needless to say, my phone memory is low :)

My TBR shelf is about 90 physical books and about 143 ebooks. I seem to read one off my pile to every 6 library books. Of course I end up buying an average of 6 books a month and reading them first.

I should just get rid of that whole shelf. Some of them have been there for 4+ years.

Sadly, my TBR seems to grow every time I read a review on a book blog! I have a ton of books on my shelf, and lots of them on my eReader. Right now I also have about 6 checked out from the library – not counting the ones I have for my next paper! I’ll be glad when this semester is over – all that school work really interferes with my reading! Have a great week.

You don’t even want to know how big my owned TBR list is. It’s really embarrassing. I need to get cracking on reading some of the books that I already own!
