This week has gone by so fast that I seriously cannot get over the fact that it is Friday again. Not that I’m complaining! We’re in our hometown this weekend visiting our parents, which is pretty much wonderful. It’s nice seeing them, but what is REALLY nice is how much they love holding Isaac. I can do things like read and talk to Shaun and go to the bathroom alone. Wheee! Ha. Last night, we went and did something really fun that I’ll tell you about later. It’s kind of a surprise and I think that you’ll be pretty excited
On to the hop!
If you aren’t familiar, the Book Blog Hop is hosted by Jenn over at Crazy for Books and is just a chance to get new visitors to your blog and, in turn, check out a bunch of great new blogs. I’ve found some of my favorite book blogs this way and get so exited every week to find new ones.
The question for this week is: If I gave you $80 and sent you into a bookshop right now, what would be in your basket when you finally stumbled to the till?
Well, I just went on an imaginary shopping trip at bn.com and here’s what I came up with:
The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, by Rebecca Skloot ($16)
CrazyLove, by Francis Chan ($15)
American Lion: Andrew Jackson in the White House, by Jon Meacham ($18)
The Omnivore’s Dilemma, by Michael Pollan ($16)
Anna and the French Kiss, by Stephanie Perkins ($16)
Although, if we’re being honest I’d rather you give me 80 dollars and take me to the thrift store or the library book sale. Paying more than a couple of bucks is hard for me and 5 books for 80 dollars seems crazy… I could get enough books for me to read all year for 80 dollars. I do always love when I have a bookstore giftcard and can get some newer books, so I wouldn’t complain. What a fun question!
Again, if you’re here from the Hop, thanks for stopping by! Leave a comment with a link to your blog and I’ll be sure to repay the visit!

First off I love reading your blog! I just started reading it last week and I now check daily and I also just started my own last week.
On to your post if I had $80 this is what I would buy… but just as an FYI many of these titles are on the list because I hope to meet the authors at an upcoming Book Festival.
13 to Life by Shannon Delaney
Secrets and Shadows by Shannon Delaney
Charles and Emma: The Darwin’s Leap of Faith by Deborah Heiligman
Ulysses: Annotated by Don Gifford
The Exile by Diana Gabaldon
The Matchmaker of Kenmare by Frank Delaney
One of your choices is on my shelf and two on my wishlist – not bad! I spend most of my book money in second-hand bookshops and charity shops too – but I must admit, I do get a bit of a kick out of a decadent blow-out in a new bookstore from time to time! And hey, at least in this hypothetical shopping trip you’re not having to spend your own cash, right?
My list is here:

Happy hopping!

blog hopping and hopped on your blog
Hopping by via Blogger Hop. Good choices! I agree…shopping for bargains is better.
I priced mine on Amazon, but I probably would try to find them cheaper, too.
Here’s MY BLOGGER HOP POST
The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks is one I would certainly also like to have. Have a good weekend.
