Lovely Little Shelf

March: To Be Read Shelf

One of the goals that I set at the beginning of the year was to get my TBR pile down to a manageable size before buying new books.  I’ve been to two library sales since then and have not been very faithful to this goal, so I’ve decided to show you my TBR pile at the beginning of each month so you can watch the condition of it get (hopefully) better!

Here it is as of March 1st:

Here it is again, but with that front chunk of books removed so you can see the books behind it:

I know that this isn’t TERRIBLE, but as you’ll probably see as the months progress, there are books that just linger there.  I think that there are a couple that have been there for over 2 years.  I need to either read them or donate them or something.  I would love for it to stay about one solid shelf and I’m about 10 or 15 books away from that.

How big is your TBR pile/shelf? Do you have books that have been there for a long time?

My TBR shelf isn’t so big since I don’t BUY many of my books anymore. I only have 1 now on it. I get most of my books at the library. My Goodreads TBR shelf is about 50 I think.

Don’t feel so bad – I have 4 5-shelf bookcases, all completely filled up, and I’d be lucky if I’ve read half. I should really count that…. hmmm…

    I have a serious book-buying addiction :o )

I own about 67 books that I haven’t read so that’s my physical already own TBR. However, those poor books often get pushed to the side for library books (which have a time limit) and new releases. I’m trying to chip away at my TBR but it’s slowing going. I have books that I’ve owned for 3 or 4 years and still haven’t read oops. (This drives my husband crazy :~)

I have about 90 books on my TBR shelf in my bookcase, and 142 on my kindle and about 6 on my Nook.

I am a book junkie and can’t stop myself from buying more.

Oh yeah, and some of them have been sitting there for 4 years.

The entire top of my book case is to-read. It’s starting to be a double layer. EEp! I think there is around 30 – 40 books on it.

My goal this weekend (if I stop playing on the internet) is to take the BOXES of books I have all over my house and in my trunk and actually put them on a book shelf. I’m a little scared of that task. I’m not sure how it will work out. Like you, I said I was going to read through my books before buying new ones, or only buy ebooks. Of course, that’s before the biannual library sale came through town. I walked away today with two suitcases full of books. (sigh) Oh well. They will eventually make it to my classroom.

love your blog (found it while researching etsy on google)!! definitely bookmarking it and coming back.

I have the habit of buying lots of books and on top of that, I borrow a lot. the library to me is like a drug where I cannot walk out with just one book, I usually end up with like 7. so I have toons of books to read and not enough time.
