Bookish Thoughts: Teen Angst

Thursday, I wrote about reading Blankets and being underwhelmed because I am no longer all angsty.

Turns out it’s all-too-common.

Flavorwire put out a list on that same day (it was meant to be!) of books that you loved when you were 16 but don’t (or can’t) still love.

Check it out here.

It’s funny because I absolutely did love The Fountainhead, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, and The Catcher in the Rye.  I’ve not tried to re-read any of those as an adult, but I wonder if I’d still be as enamored.

I’ve never read the “read these instead” books, but I think I just added a few to my list of books I need to read.

Are there books you loved as a teen but now don’t seem as powerful? What do you think of this list?
