2011 Goals

Last year, I didn’t really set any real goals for myself.  I was concerned about being pregnant and then, you know, having a baby would go for me.  It was/is pretty exhausting, but I’ve found reading to be a real escape so I still manage to fit it in as much as possible.  I realize that pretty soon Isaac will be mobile and that may really change how much reading I can fit in, but I feel pretty comfortable setting a few modest goals for this year.

Goal 1: Read 111 books.

Goal 2: Read 1 Presidential Biography a month.  More on this coming in the next few days.

Goal 3: Get my TBR pile to a manageable size before buying any more books… even if they are only a dollar.

Goal 4: Continue to blog regularly.

Sounds do-able right?  I’m really excited about the Presidential challenge and can’t wait to talk to you more about it, but I’m waiting until I have my snazzy badge done.  I’m also excited to get my TBR pile under control.  Right now it’s looking pretty rough.

What are your reading goals for this year?

Those are great goals! I am definitely trying to read all my TBRs before I buy anything new. BUT I’m going to a David Levithan signing on Monday which means I have to buy his new book Lover’s Dictionary. Then, I don’t even own a copy of Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist or Love is the Higher Law so of course I need to buy them so I can get them signed! Being a book nerd is an expensive business.

Great goals! I love the idea of reading a presidential biography a month. Good luck!

I also am trying to get through the books I own. I made a shelf on GR so I could keep track.
