Lovely Little Shelf

Week two for me for the Book Blog Hop.  Last week I got some new visitors and checked out some new blogs that I’m now crazy about. So fun! If this is your first time stopping by, be sure you leave a comment with a link to your blog so I can head on over!

The question for this week is: “Since Thanksgiving is coming up next week, let’s use this week’s Hop to share what we are most thankful for and what our holiday traditions are.”

I actually have a post planned for next week that discusses our Thanksgiving Day traditions, so keep your eyes open for that.  We have a really fun tradition on the day after Thanksgiving that I’ll tell you about though!  After shopping and taking a nap on Black Friday, Mom, Bob, Shaun, Jason, Kendall and I (and who ever else shows up!) all get bundled up and head to downtown Dayton for the Christmas Tree lighting.  Mom, Bob, Jason and I have been doing this for probably 10 years and as we’ve added to our families, our little group has grown.  It’s so fun.  We usually watch the parade and go out to eat afterwards.  This is when it really starts to feel like Christmas for me. I love it.

As for things I’m thankful for… I could go on and on.  Here is a short list.

• My husband and son.  Their health.  Our little, warm apartment.  Hugs.
• Great friends.  We have friends all over Ohio because we can’t seem to pick a spot to settle down.
• Hot chocolate. Yum.
• A wonderful church and church family.
• Our washer and dryer.  We’d been laundromat people for so long that having our own is still so exciting!
• Being able to be a stay-at-home-mom.

I really could go on and on.  On days when I’m frustrated, it is so refreshing just to be able to sit down and think of all the things that are great in my little life.  There are so many.  We are truly blessed.
