Lovely Little Shelf

Book Blog Hop (1)

A ton of my favorite bloggers take part in the blog hop, but for whatever reason I’ve never joined in.  I’ve decided to make the hop part of my blogging life.  Yay!

If this is your first time here, thanks for stopping by!  I have a giveaway going on right now, feel free to sign up! It’s a fun one because you get to choose any book I’ve read this year to win.  Have fun and good luck!

The question this week is: “If you find a book that looks interesting but is part of a series, do you always start with the first title?”

I can honestly say that it’s never crossed my mind to read books in a series out of order.  Maybe it is the structured part of me, but I would feel like I wasn’t really “getting” it.

We were babysitting some friends’ kids last night and he said he was still waiting on Catching Fire from the library but he got Mockingjay first so he was just going to go ahead and start it.  I literally gasped.  Huh?!

I have BOUGHT books out of order, with the intention of getting the earlier ones when I come across them, but I’d never read the later ones first.

Again, thanks for stopping by!  Leave a comment with a link to your blog and I’ll make sure to visit!

I came over from the hop and browsed awhile. You have a wonderful blog! And I’m with you about reading series books in order.

I try to read books in order, because they make more sense that way. My mouth dropped open when I read about that person reading Mockingjay before the 2nd book —- it’s going to make no sense!! :)

    Hi,
Just hopping by. A lot of the Urban fantasy books like the Hunger Games trilogy really need to be read in order but I find often it matters much less in mystery series for example. So for me it depends on the type of book.

Welcome to your first blog hop
