Somehow I ended up in a place that has very few great indie stores. Reading about everyone else’s stores honestly makes me a little jealous. When I was asking friends about their indie stores, Cynthia from Blogsmeade and The Butterbeer Chronicles was one of the ones that made me turn a little bit green. She started telling me about Politics and Prose in DC. Totally awesome little bookstore that has a huge list of great events an authors in and out all of the time. How long have you been shopping there? Do you know the staff? Are they helpful?
About a year or so? I don’t go often enough to know the staff on a regular basis, but they are helpful whenever I go.
What sets your indy bookstore apart from chain stores? From other indy stores?
Their staff and events. They hold signings and readings nearly every day and with a wide variety of authors. Plus, their staff is very knowledgeable with answers for nearly every subject I’ve asked about!
Does your store have new and used books or only one or the other?
Only new.
How many times a month do you visit?
Not every month. Maybe 5-6 times a year.
Does your store do special events/ author signings/ things like that? Do you attend these events?
Oh yes! They have a robust event calendar.
