I read about this on Publisher’s Weekly today and just have to share!
Rumpus is a site that I’ve accidentally happened upon a few times. I kind of have a thing for web comics (nerd alert!) and they have good ones. They also have reviews of more under-the-radar books and Google has led me over there once or twice. They are, admittedly, much cooler than me. Maybe that’s why I like them.
Anyway, they’ve started a book club. Like an old school get-the-books-in-the-mail book club! You get the books before they come out to the public, read them, then discuss on their website. At the end of the month, there is a discussion with the author. Um, yes please.
The books are 25 dollars each, which I know is a lot, but not anymore than a new hardcover. You can also subscribe for the year for 250 bucks and save a little bit. Here is their little FAQ.
