I LOVE this book. I read this in 2nd grade. It was the first book I read on my own. I still have my first copy. I have read it so many times. It is in pretty rough shape. I can’t read it anymore, which is why I have 2 more copies!!LOL!

This was the first book I bought for my niece when she learned to read. It’s such a special story.

One of the most perfect books ever written!

Do you have any pictures of George? My dad (who’s name is George) had a pet pig for years, until a hunter came onto their property and shot it, claiming he thought it was a wild boar. (The idiot!) His pig was the alpha pet, beating out the dogs in seniority.

I have loved this book from the first time my 4th grade teacher read it to us. I just read it with my 4th graders before Christmas, and you know what? They still love it. It’s such a classic.
